WHAT NOT TO DO

AVOID TO MUCH COPY

Keep the number of words to a minimum.

AVOID ORNATE OR SCRIPT TYPE.

Fancy lettering can be distracting and causes visual clutter. Keep lettering simple.

DONT USE LIGHT-WEIGHT TYPEFACES

Ads that "POP" use letters that contrast.

WHAT TO DO

FOCUS ON THE MESSAGE

The less information, the quicker the comprehension and the higher the retention rate.

TRY USING HUMOR

Be creative try using humor, surprise, or intrigue to get your message across.

LESS IS MORE

A billboard is not a magazine ad. It needs to be greatly simplified to work as a billboard.
